About This Spot

El Caimancito Restaurant & Beach Club is a sunlit refuge perched along the scenic stretch of La Paz’s coast, where the rhythm of waves mingles effortlessly with the hum of conversations and clinking glasses. Arriving here, you’re embraced by a laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere that invites both relaxation and shared discovery. It’s a place where the pace slows just enough to savor the moment — whether that’s watching a fiery sunset dip behind the horizon or settling in with friends at a table that spills out onto warm sand.

The vibe effortlessly balances between lively beach club energy and the comfort of a neighborhood spot that knows its regulars by name. Soft laughter and the scent of salt in the air mingle with the attentive yet unobtrusive service, creating a sense of warmth that feels genuine rather than staged. It’s easy to feel a part of something small and special here without any pretense.

Food and drink at El Caimancito flow as naturally as the tides—crafted with a thoughtful hand and a spirit of hospitality. Each dish and cocktail emerges as a story, inspired by the melding of familiar comforts and regional flavors with unexpected twists. Whether savoring local fresh catch in a bright, flavorful bowl or enjoying a tangy, fresh taco paired with a vibrant mezcal-infused drink, what you taste is part of a laid-back celebration of the coast and its bounty.

The beach club experience extends beyond the plate — it’s about the moments that unfold beneath open skies. Families and friends find their rhythm here, whether sharing a large table or retreating to cozy chairs by the pool. Despite the steady flow of visitors, the space retains a calm generosity, a place to stretch out and be. The team behind the scene carries a spirit of dedication, their ease and kindness adding a layer of ease to the day.

El Caimancito is a quiet invitation to pause in the middle of a bustling coast and savor the human moments that make time feel a little more expansive: a shared smile over a well-made cocktail, an impromptu conversation while watching the sun slip low, or simply the comfort of knowing you’re in a place where the beach, the food, and the company blend into something quietly memorable.

We came for the sunset and it was spectacular! Drinks were good too. Unfortunately I’m allergic to sea food and there was virtually nothing on the menu for me to eat so after cocktails and sunset we went to another restaurant for dinner.

During our stay in La Paz, my colleagues and I got a reservation for a day at El Caimancito Beach, which included a day of beach access, menu and drink access. The beach was beautiful and we had a wonderful time! It was quite packed, even during the weekday we visited. We were able to grab a table big enough for 10 and a couple of kids. The staff were all super helpful and attentive, despite it being so busy! They helped us get settled at the table and gave each of us clean, freshly laundered complimentary beach towels. We ordered a bunch of different drinks and dishes. The food and drink was about a 20-30 minute wait, as it was a really busy day. All of the beverages were refreshing, including the Peach Mocktails, Piña Coladas and Mimosas. The Ceviche was absolutely delicious and was definitely a highlight. The avocados used were perfectly ripe and bright, and the fish was so delicate. The Burger and Fries, as well as the tacos were also delicious and fresh. The beach itself is beautiful and large. The water is gentle, clear and clean. Perfect for wading and swimming! Some of the benches, chairs and lounge areas were reserved, so best to check where you’re allowed to sit. We had a lovely time at this beach; it gave a great taste of México!

A little confusing at first - Day Pass vs. Beach Pass. Ended up with the day pass with access to the pool and pool chairs, but no loungers on beach, even though you spend double $$$. Still, it was well worth it. Food was great, viewd were very nice and even though they were shortstaffed, service was friendly and good. They did mess up my bill a couple times so make sure you double check it. Overall though, great place to spend the day.

Absolutely beautiful place to catch the sunset. We only had drinks at the restaurant. You either need to be staying at the hotel or have reservations to get on the property.

As long as you make a restaurant reservation you have beach access-just bring a towel! Right on the beach, great service, good drinks and decent food. We got there in the mid afternoon and were able to take the cabana of someone who left early (they were fully booked). Definitely nap inducing. Right next to a public beach with beautiful shallow water. Definitely will be back.

Go here for the atmosphere and kind staff. Sunset was wild beautiful and the beach is crystal clear. Food was good nothing bad but not mind blowing either. The Infiniti pool was amazing. We got a day pass on the website worth it for sure.
